Among women, 45 percent said they turned to family first and 25 percent said they turned to friends first. Overall, men were 19 percent more likely to turn to professionals for help than women.
7 percent of participants said they turned to professionals like lawyers or financial planners for help and another 7 percent said they turned to a religious or spiritual institution. Five percent saw therapists and four percent went to divorce support groups.

Kelsey Grammer, 55, and his third wife Camille Donatacci, 41, announced their divorce this past July. Now, Donatacci has demanded $71.5 million in the couple’s divorce filing.
Grammer, who stared in the hit series Frasier, recently made headlines after his 29-year old mistress found out she was pregnant with his child. Sources said that Donatacci was devastated and humiliated when she heard the news.
Donatacci did not sign a prenuptial agreement with Grammer. Reports did not indicate what would happen with the couple’s shared $56 million television production company, Grammnet. If Donatacci is awarded the $71.5 million, it will be over half of Grammer’s $119 million fortune.

Zach Walsh, an author and professor at the University of British Columbia, recently conducted a study showing that men and women generally fit into the same three subcategories of domestic violence perpetrators. The study examined 567 civil psychiatric patients for signs of normal personality characteristics, mentally ill characteristics, and psychopathic characteristics. 138 women and 93 men in the study had histories of domestic violence.
Walsh believes that the results show both men and women can fit into three groups of domestic violence perpetrators: antisocial perpetrators exhibit high levels of psychopathic characteristics and are likely to be violent outside of the relationship, dysphoric perpetrators show signs of mental illness like depression and anxiety, and low pathology perpetrators have normal personality characteristics and are not likely to be violent outside of the relationship. Walsh stated, “These new findings are among the first to highlight similarities between subtypes of domestically violent men and women”.
